Who we are - Kat’s Natural Solutions

At Kat’s Natural Solutions, I understand what it’s like to feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and stuck in your health. Kat brings her own personal experience, having been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, along with navigating thyroid imbalances, fatigue, brain fog, poor sleep, and digestive issues while managing the demands of everyday life. Through supporting her thyroid, hormones, liver, and gut, and building sustainable habits, she was able to restore her energy, clarity, and overall wellbeing.

Now, I help women uncover the root causes of symptoms such as fatigue, thyroid conditions, hormonal imbalances, digestive discomfort, and weight challenges. As a thyroid specialist, I focus on supporting conditions like Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism, while also addressing broader health concerns through a root-cause, naturopathic approach.

I offer Functional Health Screening with bioresonance — a non-invasive method to identify underlying imbalances and gain deeper insight into what your body needs, allowing for a more targeted and personalised approach to your care.

Through personalised consultations, nutrition, and natural therapies, I help you:
• Increase energy and reduce fatigue
• Support thyroid and hormone balance
• Improve digestion and gut health
• Enhance mental clarity and focus
• Move toward a more vibrant, energised life

My approach is gentle, evidence-based, and tailored to you — helping you feel more in control of your health and confident in your body again.

I work with clients in Pukekohe, Bombay, Auckland, and throughout New Zealand online.

I am also a professional member of Clinical Nutritionist Aotearoa (CNA), and some health insurance providers may offer reimbursement depending on your policy.

Does This Feel Right for You?

What to Expect When You Work With Me

Healing is a process — especially when you’re dealing with fatigue, hormone or thyroid issues, digestive discomfort, or long-term stress. These patterns don’t develop overnight, and they don’t resolve in a single session either.

Many of the women I work with are busy mums, professionals, or business owners who feel exhausted, foggy, bloated, or frustrated that their body isn’t responding — despite eating well and trying their best.

For most women, the best results come from 5–8 consultations over around 6–8 months. This gives your body the time it needs to rebalance, rebuild, and respond — without rushing or pushing it.

We work step by step.
Each phase builds on the last, adjusting as your body changes and improves.

Your plan will usually include:

  • 2–3 carefully chosen supplements and/or herbs (only what’s truly needed)

  • Simple nutrition and lifestyle adjustments that fit into real life

  • Ongoing support, guidance, and refinement — so you’re not left guessing

The goal isn’t a quick fix.
It’s helping you wake up with steadier energy, think more clearly, feel calmer in yourself, enjoy food without discomfort, and feel confident in your body again — in a way that’s sustainable and kind to your nervous system.

Thyroid & Hashimoto’s

  • A thyroid specialist is a practitioner who focuses on understanding and supporting thyroid health, including conditions like hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. They look beyond standard blood tests to find the root cause of symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, and brain fog. Through functional testing, nutrition, and lifestyle support, they aim to help improve energy, balance hormones, and support healthy thyroid function.

  • Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is an autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks the thyroid gland, often leading to hypothyroidism and symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, and brain fog. It is commonly diagnosed through blood tests that check thyroid hormone levels (TSH, T4) and thyroid antibodies, including TPO and TgAb. A diagnosis may also include symptom assessment and clinical evaluation to understand how the thyroid is functioning.

  • Hypothyroidism is a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormones, leading to symptoms like fatigue, weight gain, and low mood. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is an autoimmune condition and is the most common cause of hypothyroidism. In Hashimoto’s, the immune system attacks the thyroid gland over time, which can eventually lead to reduced thyroid function. So, hypothyroidism is the condition, while Hashimoto’s is often the underlying cause.

  • Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is an autoimmune condition, and while it may not be “cured,” it can often be supported naturally. A naturopathic approach focuses on reducing inflammation, supporting the immune system, and addressing root causes such as gut health, stress, and nutrient deficiencies. Through personalised nutrition, targeted supplements, and lifestyle support, many people are able to improve symptoms, reduce antibody levels, and support better thyroid function over time.

  • Early signs of thyroid imbalance can be subtle and often include fatigue, weight changes, brain fog, feeling cold, hair thinning, dry skin, and mood changes. Some people also notice changes in digestion, sleep, or heart rate. These symptoms can develop slowly, which is why thyroid issues are sometimes missed. Conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis can begin with these early signs before showing up on standard blood tests.

Testing & Bioresonance

  • Functional Health Screening with bioresonance is a non-invasive method that uses bioresonance technology to assess patterns in the body related to stress, nutrients, and overall balance. It can help highlight potential imbalances that may be affecting health, such as in thyroid conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. The aim is to support a root-cause approach by identifying areas that may need nutritional, lifestyle, or holistic support to improve overall wellbeing.

  • Bioresonance can help identify underlying health imbalances by detecting patterns related to stress, nutrients, and organ function in the body. It provides a non-invasive way to explore potential areas of dysfunction that may not always appear on standard tests, including in conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. This information can then guide personalised support, such as nutrition, lifestyle changes, and targeted therapies, to help restore balance and improve overall health.

  • The most useful testing for thyroid health includes blood tests such as TSH, Free T4, Free T3, and thyroid antibodies like TPO and TgAb, which can help assess conditions such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. In a functional approach, additional tests like iron studies, vitamin D, nutrient panels, gut health analysis, and Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) can provide deeper insight into the underlying causes affecting thyroid function and overall health.

  • TPO and TgAb antibody testing are blood tests used to detect autoimmune activity against the thyroid. TPO antibodies (thyroid peroxidase) and TgAb antibodies (thyroglobulin) are often elevated in conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. These tests help identify whether the immune system is attacking the thyroid, even in the early stages, and can provide important insight into the root cause of thyroid dysfunction and related symptoms such as fatigue and weight changes.

  • Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a test that measures mineral levels and heavy metals in the body using a small sample of hair. It can provide insight into nutrient deficiencies, mineral imbalances, and stress patterns that may affect overall health, including thyroid function and conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. HTMA is important because it helps identify underlying imbalances that may not show on standard blood tests, supporting a more personalised, root-cause approach to health.

Location, Programs & Practical

  • If you’re looking for a thyroid specialist in Pukekohe or Auckland, you can see endocrinologists through referral from your GP for medical diagnosis and treatment. For a more holistic approach, many people also work with naturopaths or functional practitioners who specialise in thyroid health, including conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. At Kat’s Natural Solutions, we offer personalised, root-cause support to help improve energy, balance hormones, and support thyroid function naturally.

  • The Thyroid Reset Journey is a personalised program designed to support thyroid health by addressing the root causes of imbalance. It is ideal for people experiencing fatigue, weight changes, or hormone issues, including conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. At Kat’s Natural Solutions, the program focuses on functional testing, nutrition, and targeted support to help improve energy, balance hormones, and support overall wellbeing naturally.

Symptoms & Root Cause

  • Feeling exhausted even when your blood tests are “normal” can be common, especially with thyroid issues. Conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis can exist even before standard tests detect a problem. Fatigue may also be linked to stress, nutrient deficiencies, gut health imbalances, or poor thyroid hormone conversion. A functional approach looks deeper to identify these underlying causes and support energy production, rather than relying on blood tests alone.

  • Thyroid problems can be caused by a combination of factors rather than just one issue. The most common cause is an autoimmune condition like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, where the immune system attacks the thyroid gland. Other contributing factors include chronic stress, nutrient deficiencies (such as iodine, selenium, and zinc), gut health imbalances, toxins, and hormone disruptions. These underlying drivers can affect how well the thyroid produces and uses hormones.

  • Unexplained weight gain can be linked to a slowing metabolism, often seen in thyroid imbalance such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. When thyroid function is reduced, the body burns fewer calories, making weight gain more likely even when eating well. Other factors like stress, blood sugar imbalances, hormone changes, poor sleep, and inflammation can also play a role. A root-cause approach looks at these underlying drivers to support healthy metabolism and weight balance.

  • Yes, stress can have a significant impact on your thyroid and hormone balance. Chronic stress can affect how the body produces and converts thyroid hormones and may contribute to conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. It can also disrupt other hormones such as cortisol, insulin, and sex hormones. Over time, this can lead to fatigue, weight changes, and other thyroid-like symptoms. Supporting the nervous system is an important part of restoring hormonal balance.

  • Feeling cold, foggy, or unwell despite “normal” blood tests can happen when underlying issues aren’t fully reflected in standard testing. Early or underlying thyroid imbalance, including Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, may still be present even if results fall within range. Other factors like poor thyroid hormone conversion, stress, nutrient deficiencies, inflammation, or gut imbalances can also contribute. A functional approach looks deeper to understand why symptoms are occurring.

Naturopathic Care & Support

  • A naturopath supports thyroid and hormone health by focusing on the root causes of imbalance rather than just symptoms. This may include assessing conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, reviewing diet and lifestyle, and using functional testing to understand what the body needs. Treatment often includes nutrition, targeted supplements, herbal medicine, and stress support to help improve energy, balance hormones, and support healthy thyroid function in a natural, personalised way.

  • A root-cause approach to health focuses on identifying and addressing the underlying reasons for symptoms, rather than just managing them. For example, with conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, it looks at factors such as gut health, stress, nutrient deficiencies, and immune function. This is different from a conventional approach, which often focuses on diagnosing and treating symptoms with medication, without always exploring why the imbalance started.

What is Naturopathy

What is Naturopathy? A Holistic Approach to Lasting Health

At Kat’s Natural Solutions, we believe that true healing comes from addressing the root cause of health concerns, rather than just managing symptoms. Naturopathy is a holistic and evidence-based system of healthcare that supports the body’s natural ability to restore balance and heal itself. It combines traditional wisdom with modern scientific research to create personalised, practical, and effective health solutions.

A Natural Approach to Health & Well-Being

Naturopathic medicine is designed to help with a wide range of health concerns, from chronic conditions like high blood pressure, insulin resistance, and thyroid imbalances to everyday issues like fatigue, stress, and digestion. Whether you’re looking for support with hormonal balance, weight management, detoxification, or overall well-being, naturopathy provides a natural, individualised approach to long-term health.

Using nutrition, herbal medicine, lifestyle changes, and natural supplements, naturopathy helps the body function at its best. When given the right conditions, the body has an incredible ability to rebalance, heal, and thrive—and we’re here to help you on that journey.

A Tradition of Healing, Backed by Science

Naturopathy is not a new concept—it dates back to Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, whose philosophy was simple: “Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food.” This principle remains at the core of naturopathic medicine today. By harnessing the power of whole foods, herbal remedies, and natural therapies, we help guide the body toward lasting health and vitality.

Personalised Support for Your Unique Needs

Every individual is different, and so is their health journey. Naturopathy takes a personalised approach, considering all aspects of your health—physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors—to create a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. Whether you’re looking for preventative care or support for an existing condition, naturopathy offers a natural and sustainable path to wellness.

No matter your health goals, we are here to support you with natural, effective, and science-based solutions—helping you feel your best, naturally.

Testing Methods

At Kat’s Natural Solutions, I take a root-cause approach to understanding your health. I offer Functional Health Screening with bioresonance — a non-invasive, in-house method to assess underlying energetic and functional imbalances in the body.

I also use a combination of traditional naturopathic assessments, such as iridology and facial analysis, alongside advanced functional testing including Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA), the Organic Acids Test (OAT), and DUTCH hormone testing.

These tools allow me to gain deeper insight into nutrient status, hormone balance, detoxification pathways, and metabolic function, helping to identify what may be driving your symptoms and imbalances.

With this information, I can create a more targeted and personalised approach to support your health and help guide you toward greater balance and vitality.
